How fresh is the data?
Every website has a monthly snapshot, and the response stamps it with its snapshot_date. Rankings, traffic history, and AI referrals update as new months close.
What happens when a request fails?
Nothing, to your balance. 4xx validation failures and upstream 5xx errors cost 0 credits — only successful work is charged, and every charge is recorded in your credit ledger with its request ID.
How much do credits cost?
Every account gets 250 credits free each month, no card required. The grant tops your balance up to 250 and never above it, so unspent credits do not roll over. Larger top-ups are listed on the pricing page.
Can I try the API without signing up?
Yes. The playground in the Dataloom console runs real requests without using your keys or credits.
Do you rate-limit?
Accounts have a per-second request limit that scales with the credit tier. Requests over the limit return a 429 and cost 0 credits.
